By that, I mean
someone who has never really taken a conventional career
path - or wanted
to.
It’s not that I’m lazy. The
opposite, in fact. I’m
interested in (and good at!) many different things. But, like many
people, I’d never managed to find a career that seemed to ‘tick
every box’ for me.
Some jobs I’ve had seemed a logical
choice. The right pay, possibilities for promotion
- even in an area I that interested me. But as much as I hoped I
would settle
into these roles, because
I was built for diversity rather than focus, I was never really happy.
So
how did I turn things around? I systematically
worked through what really mattered to me, my values, my sense of
purpose, my strengths, interests
and passions. I looked at personal achievements and gave time to
working out what
I really needed in my life to be happy and fulfilled.
I also identified my favourite skills, what motivates me most and
which
environments
suit me best. And this is how I can help you - by
helping you through a similar process which takes in all aspects
of your life, not just your job skills and training.
I’m passionate about
what I do and get a huge amount of pleasure and inspiration from
helping people make changes in their lives. I
particularly enjoy working with people who, like me, don’t
aspire to what’s ‘normal’. Because of this, I tend
to attract unconventional, creative clients who are looking for a
career path more suited to their desire to avoid the mundane and
the ‘everyday’.
That’s not the only reason why I feel I’ve
got a lot to offer. I trained at the Coach
Training Institute - one of the few coach training schools to
be accredited by the International
Coach Federation (ICF) - and I’m a licensed career coach
with Firework
Career Coaching as well as a member of the ICF itself.
I also work as an Executive Coach for
blue-chip companies, including Capita and BSkyB.
